Koç University’s Success in European Research Council (ERC) Grants

The European Research Council (ERC) is the “first pan-European funding body for frontier research” (established in 2007), and earned a solid reputation among the world’s prestigious scientific institutions.

Koç University, as a leading Research University in Turkey and a center of excellence, hosted 28 out of 48 ERC projects awarded to Turkish universities. Out of these 28 grants, 18 are on engineering topics (electrical and electronics, chemical and biological, computer, mechanical), 7 on social sciences and humanities (sociology, history, economics), and 3 are in the field of molecular biology and genetics.
