• I would like to carry out a project with the resources of Koç University and our company, what should I do?

Please contact our office for a preliminary interview to explain your R&D needs. We then can match you with our researchers and academics, and introduce you the research infrastructure of our university. Upon the agreement on the project framework by the KU academic and your company, the contract phase is initiated through our office.

  • How are the private enterprise-financed university-industry cooperation projects structured?

Private enterprise can finance KU academics and students for the R&D projects that would support their innovation needs. Project and confidentiality agreements are signed between the company and KU to determine the stakeholder roles, intellectual property rights, and the project budget including the institution share. These contracts are processed by the SRO.

  • I just need academic consultancy services, what should I do?

If you need to consult with an academic without using the research infrastructure of KU (instrumentation, machinery and other equipment) please contact UNVEST A.Ş., a subsidiary of KU.

  • Is it possible to establish university-industry collaboration with public funding resources?

Yes. KU can provide consultancy services for projects such as TEYDEB 1501, 1509, etc. that it would otherwise not be able to participate in due to legal restrictions. In this context, a process similar to that of private enterprise-funded projects is followed. The budget is created including the company and the institution’s share, project and confidentiality agreements are signed. The company reports the project budget in the TEYDEB application and includes the consultancy and service items to receive reimbursement from TÜBİTAK within the scope of the project, at the rate determined by TÜBİTAK.

  • Which funding programs can I apply to?

Many funding agencies, especially TÜBİTAK and the European Union, have a wide range of support programs. The most frequently used programs are listed below, but a public-supported cooperation project can be constructed with many different instruments.

1501 – TÜBİTAK Industry R&D Projects Support Program
