Koç University Research Center for Translational Medicine (KUTTAM)

Established to carry out advanced scientific research on biomedical device production and to maximize university-industry cooperation in the production of high value-added, state-of-the-art medical devices and innovative products in Türkiye, KUTTAM has highly competent, world-class academics from the Faculty of Medicine, College of Science, College of Engineering and College of Social Sciences, and the finest state-of-the-art facilities that support research on various fields such as molecular medicine, cellular and molecular imaging, omics, biomechanics endurance, nano-scale prototype, motion analysis and cognition, and animal testing.

Koç University Boron and Advanced Materials Application and Research Center (KABAM)

Established in 2017 with the support of AKKİM, KABAM works in cooperation with industry and carries out R&D studies on boron-based priority high-tech materials, product development, and process development. KABAM’s three main subgroups focus on boron-based chemical compounds, boron-based batteries, and high-technology chemicals and ceramics.

Koç University Nanofabrication and Nanocharacterization Center for Scientific and Technological Advanced Research (n2STAR)

One of the largest investments of Koç University in recent years, n2STAR has the most well-equipped clean room environment, and provides the best material characterization infrastructure within the country. The center targets impact on energy, environment, health, biomedical research, automation, space and aviation technologies, communications, high-tech textiles, and future agriculture. Core research fields of n2STAR include photonics/nanophotonics, optics/optoelectronics, electronics/micro-nano electronics, micro and nanoelectromechanical systems (MEMS/NEMS), nanomechanics, microfluidics, materials science and engineering, nanobiotechnologies, and food science.

Koç University İşbank Center for Infectious Diseases (KUISCID)

Founded with İşbank’s support in late 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, KUISCID leads projects to bring solutions for the current problems in infectious diseases by combining experimental strategies with bioinformatics analysis, and clinical data. The research areas of the center are molecular epidemiology, pathogenesis, and drug resistance mechanisms of emerging infections. KUISCID aims to find novel targets for therapy by studying metagenomics, transcriptomics, by utilizing computational methods to understand surveillance of emerging infections and evolutionary root of resistance, and by examining virulence and structural profiles of pathogens incorporation with immune response mechanisms.

Koç University Optical Microsystems Laboratory (MEMS)

MEMS aims to develop high value-added technological products such as holographic AR/VR displays, head-mounted projector and vision systems, portable medical diagnosis systems, non-invasive brain simulator for Parkinson’s Disease, nano-labeling and optical sensors, MEMS scanners, 2D/3D displays and thermal imaging devices.

Koç University Manufacturing and Automation Research Center (MARC)

Dedicated to conduct advanced multidisciplinary scientific research and education in Advanced Manufacturing, Mechatronics and Medical systems fields, MARC aims to develop and enhance the engineering systems and processes, particularly focusing on the vital issues of industry with an innovative approach.
