UNIC Engaged Research Initiative
The UNIC Alliance is managing a funding scheme on Engaged Research collaboration and project development. Engaged Research is a key plank of UNIC’s work, enabling researchers to tackle societal challenges by involving and engaging citizens, civil society, city authorities, and private businesses. It’s an interdisciplinary approach to creating knowledge not only for society but together with society.
For this, the new Seed Fund scheme offers small-scale support for developing engaged research collaboration and projects across all disciplines.

2023 1st Round
The UNIC Alliance first call for Engaged Research collaboration and project development is open to all faculty members (including research faculty) with the aim to
- Coordinate a collaborative project (such as an application for external funding for research, development or innovation project)
- Launch new collaboration between researchers from different UNIC universities (to implement an activity aimed at establishing a new collaborative initiative among UNIC partner universities that will help to develop a joint external grant afterward).

- Earliest project start: February, 20 2023
- Duration: 12 months
- Budget: 5000 EUR

The UNIC Alliance announced the second Call for Engaged Research collaboration and project development.
