TUBITAK Awards Koç University for Horizon 2020 Success

On 21.3.2022, Koç University was awarded by TUBITAK for completing European Commission’s Horizon 2020 Framework Programme as the most successful university in Turkey.

Koç University has participated in 51 projects and received 23.8 million Euros of research and innovation budget under Horizon 2020.

3 Koç University actions were also awarded as “Most Successful Projects”:

1. Prof. İhsan Solaroğlu from the School of Medicine, as the coordinator for the first ERA Chair project of the university (TIREX – Koç University Transplant Immunology Research Centre of Excellence);
2. Dr. Didem Unat, from the College of Engineering, as the coordinator of SparCity: An Optimization and Co-design Framework for Sparse Computation, an action joined by 5 other partner organizations;
3. Dr. Erdem Yörük from the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, as the coordinator of Social ComQuant: Building the Future: Excelling in Computational and Quantitative Social Sciences in Turkey, partnered by 2 other universities.
